Chiltern Law was founded by experienced motoring and criminal solicitor Darren Rogers. Darren is known as a tenacious courtroom performer to whom clients are attracted for his overwhelming commitment to their cases. The quality of Darren’s work is frequently remarked upon by others and we have a regular stream of referred work as a result.
In recent times we have achieved notable success in the defence of road traffic offences, Internet crime offences including those relating to the production, making and distribution of indecent images of children and historic sexual abuse. As part of our impressive record in the defence of motoring offences we have advanced duress, exceptional hardship and special reasons to prevent possible disqualification.
Director & Solicitor
Darren started Chiltern Law in 2013 to provide discerning clients with an exclusively private defence practice.
At Chiltern Law, we also represent people at the police station which we believe is often viewed, wrongly, as less important than other areas of criminal defence. We believe that there is a real art in professional advice in the police station when limited disclosure is provided and the consequences of poor advice can have far reaching consequences in court. Police station advice is critical and we offer professional, analytical and tactical advice throughout.
We pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to detail in every case we handle.
Notable cases reported nationally:
R v K – Acted for a motorcyclist with the highest ever recorded speeding offence in the UK.
R v G – Successfully defended death by dangerous driving x 2.
R v S – Sexual assaults on school pupils by schoolmaster.
R v H – Stayed proceedings for abuse of process (historic sexual abuse).
R v B – Defending serious case of serial rape of child victims.
R v H – Murder conviction quashed and found not guilty at retrial.
R v S – Murder of his wife with areas of diminished responsibility and provocation explored.
R v P – Successful defence re possession of “firearms”.
I can only admire Darren Rogers calm but methodical approach, reassuring me that all was well, especially when I was feeling a little unsure about matters. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I always had confidence in his decisions. His support was fantastic throughout the build up to and during the police interviews. The proactive approach coupled with extensive knowledge is what really sets Chiltern Law apart from the rest
